THE LUMINOUS STARS
The Luminous Stars Center is an initiative that aims to help orphans overcome mental and emotional trauma, realize their goals and aspirations, and equip them with tools and skills that will help them transition into adulthood. This initiative will provide children with critical services that are largely inaccessible, mainly psychological rehabilitation and vocational training.
PSYCHOLOGICAL REHABILITATION CENTER
Due to terrorism and the residual trauma that follows, many orphans face psychological conditions that require urgent attention. This center seeks to provide psychological rehabilitation through innovative methods such as play therapy
VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTER
This initiative focuses on elevating the level of education and understanding in vocational areas. The main aim of this center is to provide vocational training and general life skills to children who have not completed their education. We will provide seminars and workshops, professional guidance and useful material in specific areas and fields of knowledge, in addition to expert advice and guidance on a variety of topics. These programs may be formal, or informal, group or individualized. Training will range from a single workshop to a semester-long academic course.
The program will offer two types of training
GENERAL LIFE SKILLS:
This training is broader in nature and covers a host of topics designed to help participants get ahead in life. Classes will cover such topics as improving time management, learning how to work with others, learning how to manage others, and so on.
VOCATIONAL TRAINING:
This training is narrowly focused and follows strict guidelines to disseminate practical knowledge relevant to each vocation. We incentivize trainees to not only participate but excel by offering them small stipends. Upon completion of training, participants will receive an official certificate under the authority of official bodies in Iraq.
Market need will dictate the types of vocational training that will be offered and will be reevaluated on an ongoing basis. In addition to training programs, we will also take on the responsibility of matching graduates with suitable jobs. Additionally, we will also provide graduates with loans to help support them during their job hunt.
